Washington, DC nonprofit planting and protecting trees across the National Capital Region
About
Casey Trees is a Washington, DC nonprofit founded in 2001 by philanthropist Betty Brown Casey with an endowment that still covers roughly half of its operating expenses. It plants trees for residents, schools, and community groups in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, prioritizing low-canopy wards, and grows its own stock at a 730-acre tree farm in Berryville, Virginia. The organization also runs youth education, a tree rebate program, invasive vine removal, policy advocacy, and an accredited land trust.
