## About

Greening Australia was established in 1982, the International Year of the Tree, and restores native habitat across Australia through programs such as Great Southern Landscapes, Reef Aid, Nature in Cities and Thriving on Country. It works with landholders, First Nations partners and corporate funders, runs native seed businesses (Nindethana and SeedX) and registers carbon projects through its subsidiary Canopy. In FY2024-25 it reported about 3.28 million native plants established across 3,550 hectares. The organisation has set 2030 goals of 500 million native plants and 330,000 hectares of habitat.

## Programs

- **Great Southern Landscapes** — Reforestation: Large-scale habitat restoration across southern Australia with landholders and partners, including carbon plantings registered through the Canopy subsidiary.
- **Reef Aid** — Reforestation: Restores wetlands and gullies in Great Barrier Reef catchments to cut sediment and pollutant run-off reaching the reef.
- **Nature in Cities** — Urban forestry: Brings native habitat and canopy into urban and peri-urban areas.
- **Native seed businesses (Nindethana and SeedX)** — Seed collection: Collects, produces and supplies native seed to restoration projects and nurseries, and runs accredited seed collection training with First Nations partners.
