National nonprofit restoring Australian landscapes at scale since 1982

About

Greening Australia was established in 1982, the International Year of the Tree, and restores native habitat across Australia through programs such as Great Southern Landscapes, Reef Aid, Nature in Cities and Thriving on Country. It works with landholders, First Nations partners and corporate funders, runs native seed businesses (Nindethana and SeedX) and registers carbon projects through its subsidiary Canopy. In FY2024-25 it reported about 3.28 million native plants established across 3,550 hectares. The organisation has set 2030 goals of 500 million native plants and 330,000 hectares of habitat.
